Mary Cecelia Lape, who passed recently aged 94, was your quintessential "small-town girl." Born and raised in the quaint regional suburb of Sedalia, Missouri, she found love with Jack David Lape, a WW2 enlisted Army Cpl from Euclid, Ohio, and married before moving to Vero Beach, FL where Mr. Lape had a sister. Far from home, she and her husband had four sons, the eldest now in his 70s, and became a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, never working until the latter years in her life, as well as receiving her first driver's license.
In 1975 the family moved from Eau Gallie, FL, to Loma Linda, CA, where Mary became employed in hospital food service at LLUMC and later at Paradise Valley Hospital in Chula Vista, CA. She always had a sunny disposition about family and life, and never let much bother her. In her later years, while still maintaining a strong resolve, health issues took their toll, and she lived her best years with her son Robert in North Fontana, CA, before the final curtain was drawn on July 29, 2020.
Mary leaves behind four doting and loving sons and several grandchildren who will always have fond memories of her forever in their hearts.
