Elizabeth Marie Trujillo was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 17, 1966, to Gilbert and Mary Trujillo. To many of you, she may be known as Smiley, Bootsie, Liz, or Lizzie.
In 1968, she moved to Long Beach, California, with her parents and siblings, Norma, Ricky, and Greg. It was there that she would navigate most of her life and would make many lifelong friends.
She attended John Muir Elementary, Stephens Junior High, and Poly High School.
She would move around from Southern California, Northern California, Texas, New Mexico, and finally back to Southern California.
Elizabeth was beautiful, in-your-face outspoken, robust, had a contagious laugh, and always lit up a room with her smile, energy, and crazy sense of humor.
She loved watching her Dallas Cowboys play on Sundays, singing Karaoke, telling old stories, listening to Christian music and oldies, Johnny Depp, and spending time with her family and friends.
On July 22, her battle with COVID-19 and underlying issues ended, and God called her home. Life threw many struggles at her, and she battled many things that none of us really understood. But now those battles are over, and she can run free. No more struggle, and no more pain.
Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her daughters, Irene, Eileen and her husband, Paul, and Elizabeth; her son, Gilbert; her grandchildren, Memerie, David, Leilani, Anissa, Rueben, Juan, and Edith; her sister, Norma and her husband Jaime; her brother Billy; her boyfriend, Leonard; loving, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Mary Trujillo, and her brothers, Ricky and Greg.
