Edna May Block (Robison) died unexpectedly in San Antonio Reginal Medical Center on 9/10/2021 in Upland, CA, at the age of 71.
Edna is survived by her 6 children: Donnie, Debbie, Maria, Donna, Tammy, and Dorothy; Her 14 Grand Children: Anthony, William, Joshua, Heaven, Jacob, Megan, Madison, David, Willow, DJ, Adelynn, Elliott, Hope, and Breanna; Great Grand Child Adonis; and sibling Richard. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Annabel, husband Donald, and sister Fran.
Edna was born on 11/05/1949 in Erie, PA, to James and Annabel. She graduated from Northwestern Senior High School in 1967 with a High-School Diploma. She married Donald in 1976. After moving to La Puente, Edna was a stay-at-home mom helping to raise her children and take care of her husband’s trucking business. She later wanted to become a nurse and help others. Over the past 45 years, the couple welcomed 6 children into their home, and Edna set about teaching them life and the Lord. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. With all her hard work, her son became a licensed therapist, and her daughters became a pharmacy tech, groomer, two became teachers and a shift supervisor. She was so proud of what her children did with their lives and played a huge role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Edna was accomplished at taking care of her children, loving the Lord, and often playing the piano. She was a generous, kind, and dedicated individual who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She was passionate about making sure that everyone around her knew that the Lord loved them and was always with them. She was an active and dedicated member of the Calvary Faith Center for 5 years. For the past 3 years, she lived with her friend Linda and often volunteered at her church, the puppet ministry, knitted blanket for the foster care system, played piano weekly, got the church ready for communion, volunteered for hospitality, making plans for a women’s bible study and helped at the Senior Center in Rancho.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled at Calvary Faith Center later, with a reception to follow. Pastor Mike Dunn and his wife Kerri will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Edna’s life. The family would like to thank the nurses, hospital staff, and everyone for their efforts, care, and dedication.
